Brad spent most of his adult life in law
enforcement in Orange County, working in various assignments
for the Sheriff’s Department, the Vidor Police Department, the
Precinct 1 Constable’s Office, the Precinct 4 Constable’s
Office and the Bridge City Police Department. When he left
law enforcement in 2004, he held an Intermediate Certificate.
He has served as a jailer, patrol officer,
patrol sergeant, investigator and Captain/Jail Administrator. |
Brad worked as a private investigator in college in the late 60’s
then again in the mid 80’s. He returned to private investigation
work in May, 1990 when he left full time law enforcement and went to
work as an investigator for an insurance adjusting company. Brad
opened his own business in December 1995 and still work in that
capacity. He is the owner of Bacom Investigation Service. His
total experience in the Private Investigation profession is about 28
years.
Brad attended Lamar University part time in the 70’s and 80’s and
accumulated about 70 hours in Criminal Justice. He has attended a
variety of law enforcement continuing education classes approved by
the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and
education totaling 1,000 hours or more. He has attended
approximately 650 hours of continuing education as a licensed
private investigator.
Brad joined the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators in 1996
and was elected treasurer in 1997. He served as treasurer for five
years then was elected president. He served as President for about
two and a half years when he resigned. He is currently serving as
chairman if the President’s Advisory Committee, a committee of past
presidents who advise the current president. Brad spent 5 years as
President of the Sabine Neches Claims Association in Beaumont.
In 1998 Brad became a Texas Certified Investigator through TALI--a
designation that requires extensive testing, development of a white
paper, etc. There are currently 43 Texas Certified Investigators in
Texas, a state with about 5,000 licensed or registered
investigators.
Brad is also a member of the Association of Christian Investigators.
Until Brad relocated to Friendswood as a result of Hurricane Ike, he
served as an adjunct professor at Lamar Institute of Technology
teaching a course on basic private investigation as part of their
Homeland Security department.
Brad has written a variety articles for professional publications,
both statewide and nationwide. He has been a guest lecturer at
investigators’ conferences and has spoken all across Texas as well
as at a national convention in New Orleans, La., and a statewide
convention in Portland, Oregon.
Course Description - The Business of Insurance Investigations
This presentation will include a 2-hour lecture on
understanding how the insurance claims industry functions, the
theory of insurance and where the private investigator fits into the
process.

Course Description - Ethics Panel Discussion
This presentation will include a 1-hour lecture and a
1-hour panel situational discussion.
